A straighter smile, without the metal
Clear aligners are a series of thin, custom-made plastic trays that move your teeth a little at a time. They’re nearly invisible, you can take them out to eat and brush, and there are no brackets or wires to adjust. At Happy Teeth, Dr. Bruce Edward King offers clear aligner treatment, including Invisalign and ClearCorrect, for teens and adults across Mar Vista and the Westside.

Is clear aligner treatment right for you?
Aligners work well for many of the most common bite and spacing problems:
- Crowded or overlapping teeth
- Gaps between teeth
- Mild to moderate overbite, underbite, or crossbite
- Teeth that have shifted since braces as a teen
- Minor relapse after earlier orthodontic treatment
Some complex cases, such as severe crowding, large jaw discrepancies, or teeth that need major rotation, may be better treated with traditional braces. Dr. King will tell you honestly which option fits your bite. He offers both, so the recommendation is based on what’s right for your teeth.
How treatment works
1. Consultation and digital scan
We start with an exam, X-rays, and a digital scan of your teeth. There’s no goopy impression material. Dr. King reviews your bite, gum health, and goals with you.
2. Your custom treatment plan
Using your scan, a 3D plan maps how your teeth will move from start to finish. You’ll see a preview of your expected result before you commit, along with a clear estimate of time and cost.
3. Wearing your aligners
You’ll wear each set of aligners for about 20–22 hours a day and switch to the next set every one to two weeks, as directed. Take them out to eat, drink anything other than water, brush, and floss.
4. Check-in visits
Short check-ins every six to ten weeks let Dr. King confirm your teeth are moving on schedule. Some patients need small tooth-colored “attachments” to help the aligners grip certain teeth.
5. Retainers
Once your teeth reach their final position, a retainer keeps them there. This step protects your investment, so we’ll help you choose a retainer that fits your routine.
How long does it take?
Most adult cases take about 6 to 18 months, depending on how much movement is needed. Mild spacing or crowding can sometimes be corrected in less time. Wearing your aligners the recommended number of hours is the single biggest factor in staying on schedule.

Cost and financing
The cost of clear aligners depends on the complexity of your case and the length of treatment. We’ll give you an exact fee after your consultation. Some dental plans include an orthodontic benefit that can apply to aligners, and we’ll help you check yours. Monthly payment plans are available through CareCredit and Cherry.
